Faith Formation

ST. MARY NATIVITY CATHOLIC CHURCH

2024/2025 Children’s Faith Formation

We are very happy to welcome you to a new year of Religious Education!

Our goal is to make disciples so that the children and families in our program are on fire with the faith and their love for God! Our hope is that, as they grow in their knowledge of the faith, they will become witnesses by their lives and be bold proclaimers of the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Our catechists and assistants who instruct and hand on the faith are faith-filled Catholics who are eager and excited to share the Good News of the Kingdom of God with your children. They are very passionate about the Catholic faith and proclaim the love of God with great joy and enthusiasm.

The Religious Education program exists to assist you as parents in evangelizing and catechizing your children. Your role in your children’s faith formation is vital. As the primary religious educators of your children, it is by your practice of the faith and by your example that your children will see how essential God and the faith are in your daily lives. Your teaching, support, example, attitude, and the values you impart, are fundamental for your children. To keep the faith alive at home, it is important to attend Sunday Mass weekly as a family, pray together daily, participate in the sacraments often, and complete any family activities that are provided.

The tuition schedule for 2024-25 is as follows:

$125. for one child

$225. for two children

$300. for three or more children

  • Sacrament materials for First Eucharist in 2nd grade and Confirmation in 8th grade are $50. per child receiving the sacrament.
  • At St. Mary Nativity, students typically receive the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion as second grade students and receive the sacrament of Confirmation as eighth grade students; but we also accommodate students who may be off schedule from the typical timeline. (We provide two-year sacrament prep for First Holy Communion and for Confirmation, as required by the Diocese of Joliet.)

High School Formation is also available.

Classes meet on Tuesdays from 5:30 PM – 7 PM, September 10 through April 29.

Please click the button at the bottom of this page to complete your registration.

Please consider becoming a TUITION ANGEL by making a donation for those with financial hardship. We are grateful for any amount donated. This is an important component as no child is ever denied the opportunity for Faith Formation.

Tuition and Sacrament fees pay for only a portion of the actual religious education costs. We ask for your generous support of the Faith Community of St. Mary nativity and Holy Cross during our weekly Sunday Mass offering.

The Faith Formation Program for grades 1-8 and high school runs smoothly because of VOLUNTEERS like YOU! We need people to volunteer their service in several areas. Please ccontact the Faith Formation office to find out where you can offer to be of help! Thank you!

THANK YOU for your commitment to your child’s Faith Formation! Please don’t hesitate to call or email with any questions. I look forward to seeing everyone back in the fall and meeting our new families!

God Bless,

Craig Mazur, Director of Faith Formation
