Faith and Stewardship

The Religious Education Confirmation Class completed a group service project at Feed My Starving Children.
Please pray for these and all of our Confirmation candidates
as they prepare to receive the Sacrament on April 19.

The Religious Ed First Communion Class learned about Ash Wednesday and the pillars of Lent:
Prayer, Fasting, and Almsgiving.

Last Sunday, the Confirmation Candidates and their Sponsors had an inspirational meeting with Catholic Speaker and Confidence Coach for Teens, Jenny Krumdrick.  The morning began in the gym with an ice breaker game called “Group Juggling.”  There were talks and times for discussions between Candidates and Sponsors.  Besides the snacks, one highlight was a demonstration of “Trusting God.”  The blindfolded contestants were told by “God” that the item over their head was either good or bad for them.  Since the contestant could not see the item, they had to rely on the audience to help them decide if they in fact wanted the item.  Some items were good because God tells us they are good and we know they are.  Some items were bad because God tells us they are and our friends (if they are good friends) agree.  The tough choice comes when God tells us something is good, but our friends don’t think so.  Who do we trust what God says or the rest of the world thinks?  That is a decision we all must make.  The day ended with all the Candidates and Sponsors attending the 11 AM Mass with Fr. Jerry.  Students were lectors, ushers, and gift bearers.  Fr. Jerry had a special petition just for the Candidates.  We ask for your continued prayers for these young people as they continue their journey to Confirmation.
