CHILDREN’S FAITH FORMATION
2022 – 2023

St. Mary Nativity Parish has adopted a faith formation program designed for today’s busy families, and one that will help families keep the Lord’s Day holy.  This year we will study the Sacraments. 

1^st Class:  Sunday September 18, 2022, from 10 – 10:40 AM.

The Catechism states that Parents “…have the first responsibility for the education of their children. They bear witness to this responsibility first by creating a home where tenderness, forgiveness, respect, fidelity, and disinterested service are the rule.”  (CCC 2223)

10am – 10:40am on Sunday

This allows your family to take part in either the 9:00 Holy Cross or 11:00 SMN Mass.  You can either come to Mass and stay for class – OR – come to class and stay for Mass.

Sophia Press’s Family of Faith program consists of three meetings each month.

FIRST week meeting:  The Director of Faith Formation will meet with parents.  Parents get a preview of the family lesson for the coming month.  At the same time, children will receive their lesson from the catechists in another room.

SECOND week meeting:  this is at your home, so you can pick the time.  It may be helpful to plan a specific time to get in the habit of getting together regularly.

THIRD week and the final meeting of the month:  this is for parents & children together.    Group activities are an opportunity to connect & provide accountability for our lessons.

FOURTH week is sacramental preparation: 1^st Confession, 1^st Communion, Confirmation. 

• 2 extra weeks Confession – 3 Communion – every Sunday for 8^th grade Confirmation

FEES:   $175 early-bird discount – due July 15, 2022.  Best price!!  $200 per family due at the time of registration.  (Not including extended family members)

            Sacramental programs have additional fees to be collected later:

            $25 First Reconciliation

            $25 First Holy Communion

            $35 Confirmation 8^th grade

4.   Family Fee: $200 due at the time of registration
